Why do I craft?

If you know anything about me, you know that I am a HUGE crafter.
My total time crafting in Everquest 2, in just the last 12 months, is over 200 hours.
To put that in perspective, I leveled a Shaman in WoW to level 50 in just over 300 hours.

In the premier episode of Witty Ranter, the very first topic was about why on earth would anyone waste time crafting. Well, let me tell you why….

I received some feedback that gold letters on a black background, while being very necromacery and evil, looked like crap.

I’ll try this one out for a while. If anyone has any feedback or suggestions on a new one feel free to leave a comment or send me an email at EyeOfIsanox@gmail.com

Woot! I finally found a copy of Rock Band for the 360.

Rock Band 360 drums

If I am not working or in EQ2, I will be getting some aggression out on the drums.
Frickin awesome

How about supporting VirginWorlds?

If you have never heard of them before the are a group of podcast about Online Games.
They have podcasts on specific MMOS such as: Everquest 1&2, Tabula Rasa, Lord of the Rings, Eve Online just to name a few.

In addition there are some must have podcast…

“Virgin Worlds MMORPG News” is a news podcast that is hosted by Brent, who is also the creator of the site.
This is a very well done podcast, with news about MMO’s both big and small, given in an unbiased view.

Shut up we’re talking” is a round table show hosted by Darren, where various guests debate hot topics in the gaming community. Even though there are three or more people on the podcast, there is not all the overtalking that happens in most podcast

And last, but not least, “The Online Gaming Anthology” hosted by Johnathan.
This one is a blast from the past for us Old Tyme Gamers. Each episode or two is based around a different MMO and has a guest host who looks back at MMO’s and the great stories and good times that were had by the players

Well it’s 2008, time for a new stack of resolutions. Yeah, the usual suspects are on my list again this year: Lose weight, exercise, be nicer, spend less and save more.

The new thing on this years list is to get this blog in shape.  I plan  on:
1) Getting the Blog in order by adding this like a blogroll and an about page
2) Adding at least 100 new posts this year

Wow, sounds simple. But then so is everything else on my list.

Whew… what a packed few days it’s been.

On the EQ2 front, I didn’t get much leveling done, but I did start the Frostfell quests. Who thought putting the main quest in Steamfront is a good idea? I hate going there because of all the zone hoping thats needed. Arkanoum started a secret Santa contest. The guild is up to 43. Not bad at all. I think that is about 20 levels since we moved over from ME.

On the 360 front. Mass Effect has a disk bug where it took me hours just to get thru the first mission. The thing kept giving me a dirty disk error. Wonderful game. I love the exp for talking to npcs. But the crashes have basically ruined it for me.
I also got Bioshock and Scene-it .  I’m saving Bioshock for a while. Scene-it is a blast. I’ve already got over 500 of the 1000 achievment points on it. I really hope they release a kids exp pack (Disney, Nick, Comics) and some niche ones like 80’s ed or Sci-fi.

I picked up a copy of Lotro  and signed up. I really love hop expansive the game is. Love the immersion such as the npc instance quests. I really hate the time limit auction house. And the fact that I have trouble tracking down where to go for quests.

40

Oh, for the love of god I am getting old, only 10 more years until my kids will be off in college and I can get a job I actually enjoy.
10 years in the newbie zone, 5 years of rep grinding, and now 7 years of plat farming.

In happier news, I’ve now been gaming for over 25+ years.
My birtday present to myself this year:
Mass Effect Collectors Ed

Wow, has it been over two weeks since my last post?

Well, work is still insane. I’ve now done my third straight 100+ work week.

Sunday was my second day off during that time and I managed to get my sage up to 71, brusiser to 20 and my Necro is just about to ding 72. Not bad considering I have played about 8 hours since launch. In addition Isanox got his first Server discover in KP. That brings my total to 27 server and 2 global discoveries.

Saturday night I logged on after work and was able to get the guild try at “A daring..” raid.
We managed to mess up  the levels and  spawn it at 65 . Not good when most of the raiders were less than 50.

Will I really like the 5 part guild raid progression, having to break up into good and evil sides is really a pain. Its pretty hard trying to find just the right level AND right side folks to level down to.  I hope when they add guild housing in, we can do the raid right from there.

In other news Live Update 41 is up on test. Not much to report. They are finally adding the AA switching items. Which is one of the many promised  features for RoK that never made it in.

In non-eq2 news, I tried Pirates of the Burning Sea and I’m just not liking it.

And finally, I am working on my End of Year EQ2 gripes.

As many of you have no doubt noticed Kylon Plains solo mobs are quite a bit harder than equal level solo mobs found elsewhere in the game. At one point in beta a level 66 solo mob in KP was a tough for my level 70 necro as a level 70^ mob in carrion briar was to my necro when he was 66. That’s a big difference, a -4 solo should not be equal to a +4^.

The devs want to make the solo mobs harder. This was a big point of contention on the beta boards. After all, what is ‘hard’?

Sorry for a lack of updates last week+ but my job just went into the end-of-the year push and I am currently working 100-120 hours a week.

I hope to get some new stuff up on the site this week.
